What’s your advice for people who want to make their current role or workplace more meaningful and inspiring? What have you done in the past to refocus and find purpose in your work?

Continuing with another question from LinkedIn editor Andrew Seaman: What’s your advice for people who want to make their current role or workplace more meaningful and inspiring? What have you done in the past to refocus and find purpose in your work?
Pick the job you like. When you choose your career or a career path, is very important to choose something you like, even if some jobs are better paid than others. If you hate what you are doing, most likely you chosen the wrong job. Is never too late for a professional reconversion and start for another role.
Be competitive with yourself. Competition is good, but you don’t have to compete with nobody else, besides yourself: “Be better than you were yesterday, but weaker than you’ll be tomorrow.”
Get out of your comfort zone. When there is a new task, just say yes and figure out how you’ll do it later. I know is a cliche, but when you stay too much in your comfort zone, you won’t learn anything new and sooner or later you’ll get bored.
Learn new things, do new things. In most of the cases our job means repetitive tasks, because that is the role, however, if you choose to do something else, in a good way, which you were not supposed to do, but bring value to the company, this is known as “going extra mile”, recognition for the results will be a fuel to the heart.
At least once per week take the most complicated tasks. If you pick the most complicated task and you’ll be able to do it, the satisfaction you’ll have, will be fuel to your heart.
Protect yourself. Know yourself and understand when you are more than tired. If needed split your working schedule over entire day and have longer breaks. Is very important not to get exhausted. If you go into that area, the recovery will be a lot harder. A rested mind can deliver in 10 minutes what an exhausted one will do in 1hour.
Pick a new role. When you feel the need for a change, pick a new role. Ideally would be for you to remain at least 2 years on that role.
What I do when I need to refocus and find a purpose? I pick a role where I have 0 experience and challenge myself to learn and become fit for it in max 1 month.
